Monthly total, usage plus phone numbers

Each row is that layer’s rate multiplied by total minutes across every call this month. Phone numbers are billed monthly at a flat rate, regardless of how many calls a number takes. A dash means the selected stack does not price that layer per minute.

Compare answering service costs.

Three representative plans, priced at the calls and minutes above: a per-minute plan, a per-call plan, and a monthly-bundle plan with an overage rate.

Each plan is read from the vendor’s own public pricing page, not estimated or averaged. A vendor’s minutes, calls, and included features vary, so this compares published monthly cost only, at your call volume.

How the math works.

The calculator multiplies four per-minute rates by total monthly minutes (calls per month times minutes per call), then adds a flat monthly charge for each phone number. Each layer bills separately: a carrier connects the call, a transcriber turns speech into text, a model decides what to say, and a voice speaks the reply.

Total minutes is calls per month multiplied by minutes per call, and the usage total is that figure multiplied by the sum of the four per-minute rates. Phone number rental then adds a flat amount on top, one that does not change with call volume.

Some provider stacks do not publish a per-minute rate for every layer. When a rate is billed per token or per character instead of per minute, converting it into a per-minute figure would mean guessing how many tokens or characters an average call uses. The calculator shows a dash there instead of a guess, on that row and on any total that depends on it.

Every AI voice platform prices calls differently. Some publish one blended per-minute rate; others itemize by layer the way this page does. Comparing two quotes only works when the minutes, the layers, and any monthly extras like number rental are counted the same way on both sides. Straight answers about the calculator.

Callable

Whichever layers the selected stack prices per minute: carrier, transcription, model, and voice. A layer billed per token or per character instead shows a dash, since turning that into a per-minute figure would mean guessing how many tokens or characters a call uses.

Callable

A phone number is billed monthly at a flat rate, regardless of how many calls it takes. The four layers above it are billed per minute and shown here as a monthly total, so splitting the two keeps the monthly total and the cost of one call each accurate on their own terms.

Callable

Yes. Calls per month, minutes per call, phone numbers, and the selected stack are all stored in the page address, so sharing the link reproduces the same receipt for whoever opens it.

Callable

The same versioned price book behind /cost, with the vendor and the price-book version printed on every row. A rate change ships as a new version, never a silent edit.

Callable

No. This calculator prices the stacks on this site only. For a dated comparison of what other AI voice-agent platforms publish, see /learn/ai-voice-agent-pricing.

The comparison below prices three published plans at your calls and minutes: a per-minute plan, a per-call plan, and a monthly-bundle plan with an overage rate. It compares against those published plans, not an in-house hire’s salary and benefits, which this calculator does not estimate.
